Chart: a timeline of the Space Shuttle Era

Charting every mission in the space shuttle era.

Chart commemorates the end of an era

This chart appeared on the front of the Indianapolis Star on July 8, 2011, when the Space Shuttle Atlantis embarked on its 33rd and final mission (STS-135). This mission would bring an end to NASA’s space shuttle program.

Playing on imagery and colors of a shuttle liftoff, this chart worked as a timeline of the launches, missions and, in two cases, tragedies of the shuttle program.
